As most of you know, hip hop music has an outstanding influence all around the globe. In alot of cases, it's evident that the music and culture is much more appreciated in places where it is less accessible. Emcees and producers from overseas are making themselves known on a wider scale and are being recognized for what they do to stand out. Not as a gimmick, but as pure realization that "these dudes are actually dope!". Get the picture, the bigger picture.
I have been fortunate enough to link up with an artist as such and i can proudly state that it's been the highlight of the growth in my craft. Joniz, a producer from Gothenburg, Sweden, has became a close friend and also an essential ingredient to the formula of SoulRock Music. We began sending material back and forth over the net about year ago after i heard what he had been cookin' up on his MySpace page. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed.
Joniz provides an original brand of soul-influenced compositions accompanied by innovative drum patterns that leave many producers puzzled. He has, without a doubt, created a new sound and a refreshing way to approach hip hop music. It's a MUST the the world learns about this dude.
Joniz and I are currently in the midst of putting together a collaborative album, provided Joniz on the beats and myself on the ryhmes. It's still in the early stages of brainstorming and story boarding. But I can easily say, the work we've accomplished thus far is definitely my best yet. So stay tuned for this project. In the mean time, do some homework. Read up on my man, my brother, Joniz.
